I don't know anything about DB2, but FTP is a relatively straight-forward process, and obviously with 10 million records it would make sense to run it in a batch job. Is there a specific problem you're asking about?

Hi Superk
The file (mainframe dataset) is in TAPE. i.e the reason I am asking about this specifically.
Please let me know the batch process of FTP also?

Thanks.

Some sites will allow FTP from a tape and some will not. JUst copy the file to disk if you have to.

FTP Tape is possible but will take more time since reading tape is time consuming than from dasd.
