I guess we can edit DASD records but not tape records.But i am not pretty sure.
And we can`t alter limit in GDG. |

Hi,
We cannot edit tape files but we can override existing files. If you want to learn more about tape file handling just go through the material avialable in
publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r3/ic2924/info/rzatb/rzatb.pdf
We can change GDG limit by using ALTER GDG option of IDCAMS utility.
//JOBCARD...
//*-------------------------------------------------------------------*
//* Alter GDG limit
//*-------------------------------------------------------------------//*
//STEP1 EXEC PGM=IDCAMS
//SYSIN DD *
ALTER -
GDG -
LIMIT(20)
/*
20 is a new limit.
Bye,
Reddy. |
