enhancement - add new features to an existing facility

MAINTENANCE PROJECT deals with :

#Maintaining an existing system.
#Supporting an application in customer site.
#Any problems/issues reported on the existing system or change in
the application.
#Either changing the existing code or developing the new code.
#Offshore maintenance
#Communication with users, On-site Team members and customer
representatives(E-mail,phone, Teleconferencing) .

CLIENT REQUEST on Maintenance project:"

#Changing business rules(like updations in discount calculation)
#Field expansion
#Report Format changes
#New Report generations
#DB2 column updation.

ENHANCEMENT PROJECT deals with:
#Implementation of new business module.
#Changing the currnet functionality.
#Design the proposed functionality.

Enhancement project phases are:
--Origin of a Change request.
--Requirement Analysis.
--Impact analysis.
--Program specification Document.
--LLD construction(low level Design Document)
--Code Changes(industry standard,client standard)
--Testing (Unit, Regression testing)

Hello mayank rajput,

When u are asked to to an imapact analysis you have to see whether(say u r adding that field in the copybook) u affecting any other pgm .
If these programs are using this copybook u should see that thse pgms are also chaged to incorporate the new field.

Genrally u should always search the production source and includes when u are adding a new field so that u incorporate the new field in all the pgms and include ,and all are in sync.
