My recommendations, as I've posted previously. From many of the posts here in this forum, it too often seems that folks are jumping into REXX programming without first mastering some of the basic fundamentals:
- 1. Make sure you have a good fundamental knowledge of structured programming design, file I-O routines, tables and arrays, and logic design.
- 2. You should have a good working knowledge of JES and MVS fundamentals, JCL design, dataset structures, and utilities.
- 3. You should have a good working knowledge of TSO commands and functions.
- 4. If writing ISPF Dialogs or EDIT macros in REXX is desired, obvioulsy a good working knowledge of those services is needed.
