Error while using delay

Hi ,
I m sending some informationin the map to view and using the delay command to for delaying the execution of next instruction , But during run time delay take palce before before sending the map instead of after sending the map.
Can anybody please tell me what is happening there.

You do not need the delay as your program will wait for a response from
the keyboard before your program receives control back.
