how change data from column to another column

hi, i'm realy new in this of JCL and i want change the first 5 characteres of my data to the column 30 using just a command, i try using the shift command (,),>,<, but was useless icon_cry.gif , tanks for all the help!!

well for example: i have 10 lines whit data of people, in each line i have the first 5 characters for the firstname, leater 5 charecters of the lastname, leater 2 characters whit the age. Now ussing a command i need pass the first 5 characters of the firstname after of the age. is for a homework and i just can use a command for do this.... Thanks againg
