In JCL, before processing a file, i want to check whether the file is present or not.

The LISTCAT command (TSO or in IDCAMS) should be able to tell you. |

just type zoom in tso command line and keep the cursor in that particular file press enter
if it present,it will open in vew mode or it will return u dataset not present |

Dear Partha...
Original poster meant to check this in a JCL EXECUTION... Isn't it ?...
TSO command can be executed thru JCL, but how would you put cursor on the appropriate position.
What SuperK mentioned is the viable solution. |
