How to find whether a File is catalogued or not through Batc

Hi

In JCL, before processing a file, i want to check whether the file is present or not.

The LISTCAT command (TSO or in IDCAMS) should be able to tell you.

just type zoom in tso command line and keep the cursor in that particular file press enter

if it present,it will open in vew mode or it will return u dataset not present

Dear Partha...
Original poster meant to check this in a JCL EXECUTION... Isn't it ?...
TSO command can be executed thru JCL, but how would you put cursor on the appropriate position.

What SuperK mentioned is the viable solution.
