Hi,

I have a doubt that, why does an index space contain only one index. Unlike there can be many tables in a single table space.

As per my understanding, index is stored in the form an inverted B-tree structure (like Root page, Non-leaf pages and Leaf pages). Moreover, there can be only one root pages for a given index structure in an index space.

Because of the above reason, an index space can contain only one index. But, i am not sure whether i am right or wrong.

Could anybody wants to focus on this.

Regards
Abinash

I am thinking it may be because of the performance reasons. Not much info in the manuals. We don't even explicitly create the indexsapce (verses tablespace).
