Panvalet is a proprietary library structure. It too can be used version control and migration of source objects (i.e. COBOL, JCL, etc.). Panvalet is used as an alternative to the traditional IBM partitioned dataset (PDS). The native PDS does not have the version control and migration capability. Numerous other products, such as CA-PDSMAN is one such product that provides the version control capability as well as other functions.
Endevor is a complete Source Configuration Management system. It can use Panvalet, PDS or its own file structure built on VSAM for storing source code. It supports a complex or simple migration and approval process for advancing changed objects through the development lifecycle.
