The existing GDG versions can accomodate a max of 28000 records only whereas it is supposed to accomodate 50000 due to increased dataflow. The only option left with me is to delete this GDG base and re-create it with the new parameters. Cannot use file-aid, only thru JCL. Pls help me with the complete syntax. Thanks in adavance.

hi roy,

I never heard of the GDG Base with a constraint of having a max no of records in its version.

All you need to do...is to allocate more space while create new version. You need not apend the gdg base for accomidating more number of records.

the +1 version is created in one of the UNIX scripts. and i don't have option to change the parameters in UNIX. i have to handle the situation using GDG base only.

when you create a GDG base, You never specify the space that can be allocated for each gdg version that ur going to create.

You need to modify your Unix script to accomidate more no of records in the gdg version
