Hi,
I am new to IMS and here in my firm I am expected to complete a IMS/DC task single handedly.
The task is as follows. One of the database is going to be decommissioned and I have identified two IMS DC cobol programs using this database. Number of databases are being used(found in "using ENTRY 'DLITCBL'" statement) within this program and the dataqbase I am going to decommision is just one among them.
I have done the impact analysis and identified the paragraphs/modules to be removed within the program without any impact to rest of the components.
Could any of you clarify the following points please..
(1) What would be the tasks with IMS DBA in the implementation plan ?
(2) What are the details/deliverables the developer should seek from IMS DBA ?
(3) How to identify which transaction is associated with one IMS/DC program ?
(4) I assume MPP programs are executed whenever an online message appears in the queue. How can I find out which queue is associated with one IMS/DC program?

(1) + (2) Ask your DBA.
(3) Issue the command "/DIS PGM pgmname" in IMS. The transaction code will be in the 2nd column of the output.
(4) I guess you always have one queue per destination, i.e. one queue per transaction code. |
