Hi All,

Can Filler be initialized.
I have copybook as
01 BR-REC
under that
03 Filler pic x(38)

if we initialize BR-REC,will the Filler also be initialized.
i feel that it cant be initialized.
one more question, can Filler be redefine.

sajjid.hussain,

Same answer for both questions. No.

One way to initialize the filler area is to 'MOVE SPACES TO BR_REC', then 'INITIALIZE BR_REC'.

The entire record will be initialized to spaces, and then the non-fillers will be initialized appropriately.

Why would you want, or need to redefine FILLER? Simply define the area the way you want.

Dave
