I am trying to open a sequential file(SDS) in edit/view mode.the file has 134244 lines.
It comes up saying browse substituted and opens in browse mode.If i reduce the number of lines to about 30000 or 40000 it opens up fine.I assumed this is something to do with space.I tried changing the primary and sec extents.Initially it was pri=80cyls,sec=20cyls and changed tht to several other combinations. No go.Even if i open it in the vsam processing tool it comes up saying it cannot be opened in the virtual storage available and might have to be copied to auxilliary storage.the output file takes 89 cyls totally when all records are included.Presently, the moment it goes beyond 30 Cyls it fails to open it in edit mode.
Has anyone come across this kind of an issue or have a fix for this or is this an installation dependent issue.
