is SYNC clause changes the word boundary size

Hello friends

is it right that SYNC clause will change the word bondary to the size of data item to which it associates

cobolunni,

Check out this link to the SYNCHRONIZED Clause in the COBOL MANUAL. Depending on the variable type, 'SYNC' will align to word, double word, or not at all.
