For testing BAtch and Online programs:

Xpediter can be used.

For testing Online programs only.

CA-Intertest 6.0 can be used.

Well, I use XDC from Cole Software:

www.colesoft.com

Then, as mentioned, there's Xpediter from Compuware

http://www.compuware.com/products/xpediter/default.htm

then there's good old TSO TEST:

Type HELP TEST under TSO and you'll see the writeup on it; it's also documented in this IBM manual:

http://publibz.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr_OS390/BOOKS/IKJ4C550/CCONTENTS?SHELF=EZ2ZO10E&DN=SA22-7782-06&DT=20040721160158

and then there's always "desk checking", where you sit down with a program listing and read it line-by-line and follow it's flow, trying to find a bug... icon_cool.gif
