SPF Edit from clist: works, but seems obtuse

By luck, deduction, and raw chance, I am able to achieve my goal, which is to call the SPF editor from a clist. The sequence seems at best indirect, if not outright obtuse. It is achieved by CLIST A calling CLIST B as follows:

CLIST A contents:

ISPF CMD(EX B.CLIST)


CLIST B contents:

ISPEXEC EDIT DATASET (MW.WORK)

Have I overlooked a painfully evident solution??
