I have a requirement to scan a list of 10 members in a dataset and I have to extract a variable (in all 10 members) in position 6 in the first line of every member. Finally , I have to write the member name and the variable in output dataset.

Give this a try:

(You may have to edit the O/P dataset to give it the look you want.)
Code:

//SEARCH EXEC PGM=ISRSUPC,
// PARM=(SRCHCMP,'ANYC')

//*EWDD DD DSN=JS6855.PJT.LIBRARY,

//*EWDD DD DSN=SPEC.QUAL.JCL,
//*EWDD DD DSN=SPEC.TEST.JCLLIB,
