Hi,

In most of the shops we have JCL PREP utility to check the syntax of the JCL without submitting it.

My question is, can we customize this? I want to check if my JCL accesses only test data sets e.g. higher level qualifier of the files being used in the JCL/PROCs need to have some pattern.

How can I customize JCL / PREP to suit my needs?

Please let me know if I need to further elaborate this question.

To check for test datasets, you will probably need to have the people who installed the JCL PREP software customize it through either normal customization as given by the product or with a user exit which would be called by the software for further checking.

Hi,
I am still not clear with this. Can you explain what do you mean by "user exit" ?
