Now, that's quite misleading really, as I know exactly what an IPL is and what it does ... what I'm looking for is a plain English, detailed explanation ... something along the lines of
"The operator initiates an IPL by manually ??? on the MVS Consloe. This forces the system to shutdown and instigate a warm (I think) re-start. As the machine boots up it ........."
Any links or help appreciated ... and it's not a homework question, I'm 47 !!! |

IPL is an initial program load ,is a process of loading OS from disk to central storage and executing it.

IPL is inittiated manually we bring down all the subsytems and reload and then make the subsytems up of course practically means less but u need to know lot theoritically
