Hi All,

Is it possible to Find the source of the JCL by looking at the output in the spool.

For EX:
I could find a Job (JOb1) in the Spool.
By looking into any of the messages like JESLOG,JCL,SYSMSG,SPRINT
of the job,Is it possible to find the PDS from which it was submitted.

Thanks for ur help in advance.

-Ravi.

No, I don't think so.

If it's important enough, maybe you should talk to your Sysprog's about a JCL submission exit that would somehow log the dataset name.

If you want to just see the jcl put SJ on the side of job.
This will show you the job but not the location

Regards,

an easier solution would be a edit macro which scans the jcl and adds a few jcl comments (user, submit date, lpar info etc.) to the submitted job.
200 lines rexx.

Perhaps this earlier discussion is of some help to you. If you have a scheduler submitting jobs, you will have the info you are looking for.
