Hi all,
We can display the record layout for the records in particular dataset A.B.C using FILE AID. Like
Rec_No Em_No Emp_Add
0002 90281 12,addre
But in the dataset only the valuse 0002 90281 12,addre present in A.B.C not the record layout.
How FILE AID corelates and display the record layout?
We can correlate the values with the fields in the record layout by using cobol program only.IF I want to correlate the values in the dataset with the record layout File_no, Stu_No, Stu_Add , I can write another cobol program accordinly to correalate. - Is this correct?
I am little confused, please explain with example.

Hi SS ,
You need to have a Copybook (ie. File layout ) that you will map to the file using fileaid.

Hi SS,
Nitin is right . You shd have only copybook layout to map the data set then u can use file aid or file manger. |
