Hi,
How to compare only some fields of a file. If the file has a variable fields and I need to skip during compare, is it posible ?
Supose a file has fields: A B C D E F G H I J K
E is variable fields occurs 100 times. I need to skip E and I fields and compare only rest of the fields. |

Can you please elaborate your query. From what I understand, I think we can do this using Fileaid's compare feature. |

I want to compare to two files, and only the fields of interest to me is the fields A B C D G H J and K. I don't want to compare the fields E and I.
I know that it can be done by fileaid, but I don't know it can be done. |

Hi Gigs,
By fields, do you mean you have fixed column numbers or copy book for these fields.
If I understand your question, I think you could use the compare option and then use unformatted and specify the columns and the length you want to compare. |
