Doubt regarding Appending in inbound transmission case

hi all,

i knew that 'append' cmd in FTP can be used to append the content of
foreign file in remote system. Is there any command or method available to append the contents of local file in local system?

I'm not quite sure I follow.

The APPEND command is very similar to the PUT command, and the two can be used for the same purpose.

The GET command does not have a counter-part to support concatenation.

If you are "pulling" a file from a remote server to the mainframe using the GET command, and you wish to append the data to an existing mainframe dataset, then why not just make sure that the dataset is allocated with a DISP=MOD disposition?
