how to find out a vsam file is empty in a jcl

I have a KSDS file, I have to test whether it has data or it is empty. If it has data in it, I have to do further processing. Can anybody help me how to find out whether it has data or empty.

Can you please do a search before posting?
The discussion in this link fits both VSAM and non-VSAM datasets.
