Hi Vijay,
It will take only 4 values since it was declared as s9(04) comp.
Inorder to store the full value as in your case you need to declare it as S9(05)comp.
Hope i am clear. |

Hi,
In db2 we can not declare like that, we can declare half word or full word
but as per test book it has to take -32763 to 32763 but it is not taking.
I dont understand why is it so.

Hi Parikshit
It is typing mistake. TEXT BOOK or some books written on db2, I think now you can understand better.

Vijay. |

Vijay,
S9(4) comp can take a maximum value 9999. that is why you had truncation at MSD when you tried moving 10183. |

Hi,
for the S9(4), what is the usage the 'S'? As I know , it means the signal,'-" or '+', when displayed, it is like '+9999' or '-9999'. And it will not occupy the digit. That means S9(4) actually take 4 digit instead of 5 digit...
Am I right ? Correct me if wrong........Thanks. |
