Hi All,

I need one solution. Actual requirement is that i have to insert a record
of value 99 in the left most two bytes if the file is empty.Actual length of the file is 1000.Is there any possibility to know that the given file is empty using DFSORT and to insert a value 99 in the record.

Please help me if anyone knows solution.

Thanks,
Kran.

Hi Kran,

This very topic is discussed several times in the forum, the recent one is subjected "will empty dataset occupy any space?"

Cheers, Twissi.
