Can we store the contents of ATTR section of panels in a separate member and use that in our panel programs? IF so kindly guide me.
say...,
xxx.yyy.mm(memb)
-----------------------
# type(text).......
! type(input).......
PANEL1
---------
)ATTR
/* i have to use the contents here*/
PANEL2
----------
)ATTR
/* i have to use the contents here*/ |

I don't think so, but why would you want to anyway? |

hi superk,
i have some 20 panels. Each have the same text format and style. I could optionally code the entire attribute definition in each panel program. But it would be good if i have the attribute definition in a single separate file and use that in each panel definitions(pgm).
Sorry for posting this in Rexx section. But i thought since each panel is displayed by running a rexx pgm its appropriate to post it there. |

jaiananth, no need to apologize. We (the members of the Forum) agreed a long while back that it would make the most sense to everyone to keep the topics related to ISPF separate from those related to REXX, CLIST, or TSO, since ISPF is language-independent. That way, someone searching for a topic concerning how to use ISPF panels in a COBOL program would not have to look at non-relevant REXX or CLIST discussions.
As far as your query, I don't have anything to offer. I do know that, according to the "what's new" publications from IBM, it appears that, starting with z/OS v1R6, there's a new REXX EXIT function for ISPF panel definitions. We're not that far along in z/OS yet, so I haven't yet worked with that concept. |
