Hi ,
i m almost new to mainframes .
i recently found a jobname a bit ackward one .
it looks like
&xyz.abc
notify=&xyz.abc
this job has an instream proc .
n there i found statements with '&&&&'
does any one hav any idea wat type of job it is .....
on my part wat i think tat its being called by another job (i don't know whether its possible or not just guessing )

I would have to say that that's very likely. Something must be converting the variable &xyz into a valid value before the job is submitted. |

yes superk ,
i agree with u but can u tell me tat how can i change these parameters
can we link a job from another one and pass parameters .
if not then how to fill those parameters.....?

I think its a symbolic constant. The value of which is stored in JOBLIB/STEPLIB library.
The value of a symbolic constant can be altered using the SET statement.
Please correct me if I am wrong as I am also new to Mainframes & JCL's. |
