I have some datasets in CART. I want to get the information about the datasets and want to check how many records are there? Is there any way to get those information.

akhi007,

I know of no way to get the record count from a tape/cart dataset without physically reading the dataset. You can use IDCAMS/REPRO, DFSORT, or SYNCSORT to copy the dataset to a dummy output dataset and get the record count.
