updating a primary key column

Hi,

If i update a primary key column does it impact the performance of the sql. Any other constraint in updating primary key coulmn.

Please suggest.

rashmi,

Certainly updating the primary key, or any of the secondary keys is going to impact the performance of the SQL greater than updating non key columns. DB2 must also update the indexes for the keys you change.
