I think its an hexadecimal representation of the column....

hi,
while creating each row of a table, db2 will allocate a unique number
for that particular row, provided u defined the row id with"
"col name generated with default option". the other option is "generated
always"....in this case u hv to manually enter the unique value in the
rowid field....u can search the records in the table usin row id also........
