Hi,

Is it possible to trim leading spaces using syncsort??

I have the following sort statements. I need to trim the leading spaces before writing the sorted records into the output file.

SORT FIELDS=(34,4,CH,A)
OUTREC FIELDS=(34,4)

Pl help icon_sad.gif

Thanks in advance!

hi

i cannot get u clearly as u said that u want to trim the leading spaces ok
i need one informatiion that whether the spaces are present in which location of the record
for example if it presents in the first 5 place of the record in this case we can reformat the record before writing by using outrec option in sort utility

if i am wrong please correct me
by sending mail to me
thanks
