Hi All,

At our installation.. We are able to logon to CICS regiononly if the Caps lockkey is on--Which means It is case sensitive. For TSO, we can log on either way. I already made UCTRAN settings to YES both in the Profile and the Type Terminal setting. Issue still remains.

FYI: The version of CICS is 1.3

External Security Manager is RACF version less than 1.7

If I type in small letters in the CICS signon(CESN) screen, It says Userid does not exist.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks & Regards,

hy mailsri,

the SIGNON in CICS you make with transaction CESN.
either passing CESN panel or hidden in the background.
if now your data is not in uppercase, you can customize
this for that CICS region....
ask your CICS admin... at our installation it's always translated
to uppercase.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the I/p.

However some clarification required.

Yes the signon Which is GMTRAN=CESN(GoodMorningTransaction) is the one we are using.

Not clear with CESN panel hidden in the background.

Also FYI: There is only one CICS region at our place.

While In TSO, it automatically converts the username to CAPS, but it is not happening that way in CICS signon Screen.

I tried with all options from the UCTRAN parameter to changing the MSGCASE=MIXED in the SYSIN statement. Nogo

Pls check whether this has to be checked in RACF or associated with the CICS only.

Thanks Anyway,

Regards,

hy mailsri,

no, forget the security system,
it is inside cics only.
if you invoke cesn without any parameter you get a panel from cics,
to complete the userid/pswd... conversion is in cics...

Hi Martin,

Thanks again for adding some inputs.

As far as our installation is concerned, There is no parameter passed withthe CESN signon screen.

When I type L C001 It takes me to the CESN screen with the prompt for username and pwd. When i type the username say davin1 as stated earlier, I get an error USERID doesnot exist.

I dont see any conversion sort of activity taking place. I am the only person in charge for all the Admin activities and so no administrator
seperately for CICS etc.

Pls check whether any settings need to be checked or added in the SYSIN statement for this issue.

One more query?

Just like we connect DB2 from TSO, is it possible to connect to CICS direct from TSO.

Your Help is much Appreciated.

Thanks a ton,

Regards,
